“Just The One” Pictographs

We spotted a very promising cluster of boulders, cliffs and overhangs off in the distance one morning and set out to investigate. We happened to reach the one spot in the whole area that had anything of note straightaway, and spent the rest of the time getting plenty of exercise and not much else.

Sometimes the signs do the work for you.
Plenty of pigment under the overhang.
Nice concentric circle design. The boulder face is pretty rough, so pigment seeped in unevenly in other places, or were worn away completely.
A second concentric circle design, a short distance away.
Some of the designs look almost like handprints.
Most of what must once have been a pretty impressive panel have flaked away. I can imagine a vibrant panel filled with concentric circles and handprints.

This was just a small site, situated in a nice area with plenty of rock shelters around. It was interesting that there was nothing else to be found, looked like it might have been a nice spot to live.
